| In 2007 United Sports International was formed so that the Lancaster Rattlers could be born. In the Antelope Valley, CA sits two sister cities; Lancaster & Palmdale. The area is one of the biggest avenues for soccer in Southern California, in Lancaster sits the Lancaster National Soccer Center; the biggest soccer center in Southern California. It is Lancaster where United Sports Int. decided to begin their franchise & the Lancaster National Soccer Center is where they practiced for their entire stint in the A.V. The Lancaster Rattlers began in the USL (United Soccer League), playing their games at Pete Knight High School their first season (2007) and finished 1-13-2. In their second season (2008) they played at Palmdale High School and finished 2-13-1. In their third (2009) & forth season (2010) they moved to Antelope Valley High School & in (2009) they had their best season yet finishing 5-7-4 with 19pts. In early 2010 The Lancaster Rattlers were fortunate enough to join forces with F.C. New York. They are our pro affiliate and are currently making leaps and bounds in player transfers! In 2011 United Sports International made a long awaited decision to move to the NPSL (National Premier Soccer League), they also made an even better decision to detach themselves from the city of Lancaster and change their name to Rattlers F.C. & move their home field back to Palmdale High. In 2011 the Rattlers F.C finished their first season in their new league with a record of 3-11-0. Throughout their five years in the Antelope Valley the Rattlers sole intention was to bring the talent of the Antelope Valley that, throughout the years, has been forced to moved out of the area to expand their career. The area only has one junior college and a few tech schools, so the local talent has always been forced to move out and disperse to the surrounding cities and beyond once they hit the college level. Unfortunately the local businesses, the school districts, the fans, and especially the city were totally unresponsive and never quite supported their local talent like United Sports Int expected. After careful consideration the family of United Sports International decided to move away from the Antelope Valley & were fortunate enough to be welcomed with open arms by the City of Santa Clarita and are honored to call it home. United Sports International's inaugural season will be in 2012 as Futbol Club Santa Clarita (F.C.S.C.) and is honored to be a part of the Santa CLarita Valley and add to the growth and development of this beautiful city. |
